John 7 – Comprehend – learn from the mistakes of others or repeat them!
Don’t follow the multitude – (brothers) - follow Christ – Ask – for a relationship.
Don’t fear the authorities – (people) - fear God – Seek – wisdom.
Don’t focus on the teacher – (Jews) - focus on the Word – Knock for understanding.
John 8 – Concentrate – on how you’re going to live, today and everyday!
Follow Christ – the Light of life. Or follow your desires into a world of darkness.
Abide in His Word – be free from sin. Or abide in the lies and be a slave to sin.
Keep His Word – achieve eternal life. Or keep nothing and achieve eternal destruction.
John 9 – Consider – how you’re going treat people, from now on.
Don’t Look Up at them – with Envy – Jews at Jesus. Attacked to destroy.
Don’t Look Down at them – with Disdain – Jews at blind man.
Disregarded then walk away.
Look Across to them – with Compassion – Jesus to blind man. Reach out and lend a hand!
8:58-59 Jews looked up to Jesus with envy and picked up stones
Vs.1-2 Disciples looked down at the blind man. Explain his suffering, who sinned?
Vs.3-7 Jesus looked across to him and reached out with compassion.
He saw opportunity to help not looking down to excuse.
When no man can work – Luke 16:27-31; Matthew 5:14-16
Vs.8-12 People were confused by the blind man
Vs.13-17 Jews looked up at Christ with envy.
Vs.18-23 Blindman’s parents
Vs.24-34 Blindman looked across to the Jews and told them of Christ.
Vs.35-38 Blindman looked up to Christ and worshipped Him
Vs.39-41 Jews looked down at Christ – remained in their sins.
Lesson from the blindman – be prepared to give your testimony, by looking across to people with compassion, reach out and lend a hand – 1 Peter 3:15
