This year most of the Gospel lessons are in the Gospel according to Saint Mark. These readings talk about Jesus’ teachings, His miracles, and His action-packed ministry. But each of the readings also has a “takeaway” from Jesus Himself! We’re focusing on these “red-letter” verses this year.
Last week’s Gospel lesson was at the end of Mark Chapter 10. In today’s Gospel lesson we skip over all of Mark chapter 11, that tells about how Jesus came into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Today we land on one of Jesus’ conversations in chapter 12 where He tells someone: “You are not far from the Kingdom of God.” What do you suppose He meant by that?
