Like some kings in history who went incognito to see how the commoners felt about their reign, the Son of God went undercover when He took on flesh. He did this, not out of curiosity, but compassion; for He humbled Himself even to the point of death on a cross. St. Paul said that in Christ we have the supreme example for how we are to live. What would humbling ourselves look like? What difference might it make?
