One of my favorite all-time quotes that doesn’t come from the Bible is this one, from a sweet and wonderful book called “The Little Prince”: “Here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
Today we’ll hear three Bible readings that start with blindness of the eyes – but then help us to see Jesus with our hearts.
This summer most of the Gospel lessons are in the Gospel according to Saint Mark. These readings talk about Jesus’ teachings, His miracles, and His action-packed ministry. But each of the readings also has a “takeaway” from Jesus Himself! We’re focusing on these “red-letter” verses this summer. Here’s this week’s, from Mark chapter 8, verse 29: “Who do YOU say that I am?”
