In this section Paul explains what our main priority is as “called ones,” those who have been sanctified—we are people of the gospel. It’s a reminder of what is central to Christianity; that the gospel is the guiding force of a believer's life. Our faith is not a culmination of what we’ve worked for or earned, it’s the consequence of a gracious God extending mercy to those who humbly believe their only hope is Jesus—the wise believe they can make it, but the weak know they can’t.
