A Story of Perfect Timing: A Sermon on Matthew 24:42-51

"Timing is everything!" We say that to emphasize how timing, while certainly not everything, is often a very important part of our daily lives. We plan our days with the intention of getting the timing just right. Getting children to school, meeting deadlines, navigating traffic to arrive on time; these all demand “perfect” timing. Frequently though, unforeseen incidents throw off our timing. However, often, we negatively impact our response to the demands of time by procrastinating. Worse still, we even procrastinate with the spiritual things that God sets before us. BUT there does exist perfect timing. God's timing is perfect. He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, at the perfect time. Christ did and always does exactly what we need at the right time...every time! What this requires of us is trust and thanks for his provision, spending the time we are given in faithful and wise service...to Him!
