What difference does it make to be justified by faith? In Romans 5:1–11, Paul opens up the rich blessings that flow from being declared righteous through faith in Jesus Christ. This Sunday, Robin Vonk will guide us through this deeply reassuring passage, showing how the gospel doesn’t just rescue us from guilt—it ushers us into a new life of peace, joy, and confident hope.

Because we have been justified, Paul writes, we now have peace with God—no longer enemies or outsiders, but reconciled and embraced. We stand in grace, secure and accepted. Even our sufferings take on new meaning, producing perseverance, character, and a hope that will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.

At the centre of it all is the cross: “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This is how we know God loves us—not because of our worthiness, but because of His mercy. Jesus took our place, bore our punishment, and rose again to guarantee our reconciliation with God.

Join us as we reflect on the stunning blessings of justification. Come and be refreshed by the gospel that gives peace in the present, joy in trials, and certainty for the future—all because of what Christ has done.
