Sermon Series: Romans (Heaven Sent)
Sermon Title: The Purpose of God’s Law
Bible Passage: Romans 8:14–30
Preacher: Robin Vonk
Date: 3rd August 2025, 9:30 am
This section of Romans lifts our eyes to the breathtaking reality of what it means to belong to God. Through faith in Christ, we are more than just forgiven; we are adopted as His children, led by His Spirit, and made heirs of His eternal glory. Yet Paul also acknowledges the tension we feel: life in this world is marked by suffering, weakness, and waiting.
This Sunday, Robin Vonk will unpack how the gospel gives us hope even in our deepest struggles. God’s purpose is to make us His sons and daughters, conformed to the image of His Son. The Spirit helps us in our weakness, interceding when we don’t know what to pray, and God works all things—yes, even pain and loss—for the good of those who love Him.
At the heart of this promise is Jesus. He fulfilled the law we could never keep, bore the punishment we deserved, and rose again to bring us into God’s family. Because of Him, we can face suffering with confidence, knowing it is not the end of the story. Glory is coming, and nothing can separate us from God’s love.
Join us as we explore the incredible hope and security found in being God’s children, redeemed and transformed through Christ, and empowered by the Spirit to live for His glory.
