Looking at 2 Samuel 9 we see the grace of God exemplified through King David as he honors someone, who by the cultural standards of the time, was not only worthy, but also had nothing to offer back.  It is a beautiful picture of the grace of Jesus Christ in the new testament.  And it reminds us that the grace of Jesus is for you, for me, for everyone who will accept it, irrelevant of how far from God we have strayed.
