The Lord sent Israel to Egypt. And this was not an easy place to be sent. But the Lord helped the family he sent every step of the way. If you are Christian, you have also been sent to a particular place to live and bless others. Listen to this message and be equipped to live faithfully as a sent one.

Last week we looked at God's work in the hearts of Joseph's brothers. In our present text this work consummates... And this text shows us that the family of God must be different than the world - and the Lord will ensure that happens.

Genesis 41-42 is the resolution of the first part of the Joseph story. The prisoner becomes a prince. And this is a story of Joseph, but it is also a story of God. And this story should help you see how God works and see the type of deliverer he sends.

The last we have read of Joseph he was sold off to Egypt. But the Lord had not abandoned him. The Lord was with him. He was with him in the good times and in the bad times. And his story helps us to remember that we must live like God is with us - because He is!

Genesis 38 is one of the most difficult passages to read in all of scripture. But it traces God's dealings with one, big backslider - Judah. Judah came from a godly family, but was now walking away from the Lord. But the Lord deals with him in several different ways throughout the passage. And despite the shocking aspects of this text, it should give you great hope in the God who is present with even the worst of sinners.

Nobody wants to suffer. But the Bible tells Christians that we must not be surprised when we do suffer for what is right. There is a theme in scripture of many who suffered despite being innocent. And one such man was Joseph.
