Psalm 119 is a blessed hymn to God’s Word. There are 22 stanzas with eight verses each. Many terms are repeated constantly referring to the Word of God. Among them are God’s commands, precepts, law, statutes, decrees and promises.
We will be taking a deep look into the 16th octave, vv. 121-128. A good theme for this section would be Servant Loyalty. As we work our way through this 16th section in Psalm 119 we will notice the theme of loyalty to God repeated often. In v. 125 the psalmist cries out, I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes. The loyalty of the servant is a reflection of the loyalty that God will show all who are in a covenant relationship with him. Thank God, we now can have that in Christ today.
