Service delivery in the Khayelitsha informal settlement is virtually non-existent. The elderly and children are constantly exposed to the dangers and health hazards of the appalling living conditions in this area, which is a breeding ground for diseases, crime, violence, substance abuse and many other socio-economic challenges.

The residents of Khayelitsha have requested Lentswe La Batho to intervene on their behalf to demand basic services from the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality and the Free State Department of Cooperative Governance.
