Many of us first experience giving and philanthropy through service projects. These pre-planned opportunities are a great introduction to giving, but should be viewed as the beginning and not the end of our development as philanthropists. Service projects are a launchpad to developing a service lifestyle which incorporates giving into every aspect of one’s life. This week, learn both the process and purpose of living a service lifestyle.

  2. Smile and say hello to people you pass on the street
  3. Listen attentively when someone is speaking to you
  4. Write a thank-you note to someone who has helped you
  5. Offer to babysit for a friend or family member

  7. Bring in treats for your coworkers or classmates to share
  8. Leave a positive review for a local business
  9. Help a child you know with homework
  10. Leave a generous tip for a server or delivery person
  11. Cook a meal for a friend or family member who is sick or going through a hard time
  12. Donate blood or sign up to be an organ donor
  13. Clean up litter in your local community
  14. Create aid kits for homeless
