In this episode Dr. Freeman opens a mental panel for an observational view of Family law. Within his findings he discovers from a legal definition, that it is a legal/Statutory coded practice that focuses on issues that suppose to involve family relationships, such as adoption, divorce, and child custody, among others.

In this observation he also discovers the State(s) have the right to determine "reasonable formal requirements" for marriage, including age and legal capacity, as well as the rules and procedures for divorce and other family law matters.

There's also terminology to know that listeners may find helpful:

1. Emancipation: A court process through which a minor becomes self-supporting, assumes adult responsibility...etc

2. Marital Property: Property acquired by either spouse during the course of a marriage that is subject to division upon...etc
