The Group captures the weekly experience of six individuals as they come together in therapy to better understand what holds them back from living with greater emotional freedom.
Nova is the Psychotherapist who works with The Group each week. She stays true to her analytic lens as she examines, contemplates and encourages the group to explore and ask for more from themselves and each other.
As the group process evolves, they begin to discover hidden personal truths and work through personal crises as they challenge and embrace them self in the company of others.
Reginald 57 is a man of great financial means however, struggles with overwhelming fear of abandonment and unresolved complex grief.
Helena 55 is newly divorced from her alcoholic husband however, her codependency inhibits her from leaving the family home and she lives a miserable life in the spare room.
Trixie 30 is a beautiful and vivacious hairdresser who discovered she is living behind a facade and is now desperate to break free from the caricatures she creates.
Tony 33 is a nurse and lives his life rescuing others from their suffering, however it is his own deep seated pain that needs his attention as he struggles with feeling being good enough for his father.
Dolly 48 is tough and smart and impossible to please. Her standards are too high for others to achieve which evokes a contempt for others as she scowls, yells and bullies her way through life.
Paul 38 is an attractive artist living in a converted pick-up dock surrounded by all his canvases. His boundaries are lax and leaves him vulnerable to wandering strangers. He has a nihilistic philosophy keeping him unavailable to find a safe place to rest his heart.
