The Sunday Sessions Project welcomes Underwater Robots with their sing-a-long-dance-a-long rock to the show this week.
This local outfit blends all the right elements of cool riffs, strong vocals and great songwriting to deliver straight up Rock and Roll.

The band started with Tim and Erik playing acoustic covers at house parties and shows that just didn’t fulfill the guys musically. They realized that they needed to play originals and build a bigger band that would appeal to a bigger audience. Although they say there is “nothing scholarly about us” it is clear that they write great tongue in cheek lyrics and can deliver a big rock sound that could be lovingly dubbed “Dad Rock”. The kind of music that a Tom Petty fan would appreciate.

UWR’s first album “Like Frank Sinatra”, recorded at Headroom Philadelphia, pushed the band to reach a wider audience with songs that appeal to alternative, progressive and indie music fans. They like to build many of their songs organically while in the same room noodling together.
Keeping the music flowing, UWR is getting ready to release a new album this fall called “Aaardvark” (Yes, they know that aardvark is normally spelled with two not three a’s- obviously there is nothing normal about these guys). They are keeping their musical mission alive by creating music that they love and hope their influences would listen to as well. They have been getting recognition on Spotify discovery lists and hope that the new album can create more buzz.
