This time, it was Marvin Sapp. At first, people rushed to criticize him—before the real story surfaced. Exodus 34:21 - Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.

Growing up we were taught that you worked Monday – Saturday and you rested on Sunday because it was the Lord’s Day.  When we don’t rest, we cannot think clearly on what needs to be done and what should be done.  The body can only run for so long without a break.

I spoke on this yesterday, July 30th, at my church. I have spoken on this before, last year, but this time it is live, and it is still relevant a year later.  I always do this kind of talk right before school starts reminding parents and teachers prayer doesn’t start at school, it starts at home.

It’s time for our children to ‘know” God and not just know “of” God.  When we are not around, God is who they will need to turn to for their help.
