The Book of Ephesians:
1 All Inclusive
● Who God is:
○ Generous (Eph 1:3)
○ Rich in mercy (Eph 2:4)
○ Able (Eph 3:20)
● Who we are
○ Forgiven
○ Blessed, chosen, holy, without blame,
adopted, accepted, redeemed, forgiven (Eph
1:3-7)
● What we have In Him
○ We have obtained an inheritance, wisdom,
knowledge, every spiritual blessing, a
position, a purpose, an assignment
● Who our enemy is
○ Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh
and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness
in the heavenly places.
● How we maintain what we have been given.
○ The Word, salvation, righteousness, & faith
2 Halves
● Doctrine - The gospel message
● Doing - How we are to live this gospel message
● The two halves are connected with an interesting
word “Therefore”
3 Parts
● Wealth - Blessing - In Christ - In Him
○ Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us
with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly
places in Christ
● Walk - Being
○ Eph 4:1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord,
beseech you to walk worthy of the calling
with which you were called
○ We see God has some expectations for
us...most of them deal with how we treat
other people. Verse 2 bearing with one
another in love.
○ Later in chapter 4 he says to “put off” the old
man and to “put on” the new man.
● Warfare - Battle
