Smart Goal Setting
What is a smart goal? I’m not saying that some goals are dumb SMART, S M A R T, is an acronym I and other NASM trainers use with our clients.
Specific
Measurable
Attainable
Realistic
Timely
When I sit down and have my first talk with a potential client. One of the most import parts of the meeting is to find out their goals, and/or help them set them. I talk to a lot of people how what to get down to a specific weight or size and don’t seem to have a reason for the number. It just kind of sound good or it was the weight they were during a happier time in their life.
Goal setting is a way to make sure you are moving forward and have a target to hit. Setting a SMART Goal help you stay on track and keeps things from going sideways.
