01/30/2022 - Some of the most debated and burdensome realities in Israel at the time of Christ were the laws surrounding the Sabbath. Even today, Jewish communities struggle with adhering to these laws. Most of the volatile encounters Jesus had with the religious leaders centered on the adherence to Sabbath laws. In Matthew 12, Jesus exposes their hypocrisies and misinterpretations of the Sabbath.
