Programmes of Activities (PoAs) have been introduced to overcome some of the challenges associated with implementing Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects. PoA’s are of particular relevance in Least Developed Countries (LDCs) due to their potential to contribute to reduce poverty.
This webinar, the first in a series organized jointly by UNDP through its MDG Carbon Programme and the World Bank Institute Climate Change (WBICC) Practice, will introduce or refresh the concept and regulatory framework of PoAs and will provide an overview of the role that the Coordinating/Managing Entities (CME) play in a PoA.The current PoA standards for demonstration of additionality, development of eligibility criteria and standards on application of multiple methodologies and sampling will be introduced as well as how CMEs are structured and what their responsibilities are in setting-up and managing PoAs.
