Our guest's journey into the helping profession was sparked by a profound realization about human sexuality. She discovered how culture, education, gender, and religion, among other factors, influence our self-perception and relationships. This insight led her to a mission of promoting self-acceptance, tolerance, and beauty in diverse sexual expressions, filling a gap in social discourse.
Armed with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hood College, our guest is a licensed clinician in Washington, DC, and Maryland. But her role doesn't end there. She also serves as an adjunct professor, teaching a course titled “Intro to Sexual Wellness in Counseling.” In this capacity, she imparts the knowledge and sensitivity necessary for future counselors to navigate this vital aspect of mental health.
