If there was ever a perfect week for this conversation with my dear friend Rachel Overvoll, it’s this week, because I think we all could use some additional self-love and self-pleasure right now. Rachel is a Sexual Reclamation Coach, author, and badass human being who joined me on the podcast for a real discussion all about connecting more deeply with ourselves through self-pleasure practices. Yep, we’re talking about masturbation, and Rachel has some amazing suggestions for every woman looking to incorporate more pleasure into her life.
For too long, women have shied away from conversations around self-pleasure, masturbation, and putting our needs and desires first. We’re never taught how to truly appreciate our bodies and instead approach self-pleasure from a space of shame and guilt. But as Rachel explained this week, masturbation is truly a cornerstone to learning to love your body, getting in tune with your body, and determining what your body really needs to feel pleasure in other areas of life. Rachel also shared her incredible healing journey after leaving the fundamentalist evangelical religion she grew up in, and how sharing her story led her to her own sexual reclamation and coaching practice.
