Welcome to the Seventy Nineth episode of Daily Daf Differently. In this episode, Rabbi Harry Pell looks at Masechet Shabbat Daf 80. Daf 80 begins with a discussion of carrying on Shabbat, but winds up teaching lessons about the cosmetic uses of lime, and an even more important lesson about personal responsibility.

Rabbi Harry Pell is Schechter Westchester’s rabbi-in-residence, as well as a teacher of Talmud and chair of the Judaic Studies department in the High School. His favorite teaching opportunity comes annually when he is privileged to travel and learn with the senior class in Poland and Israel. Rabbi Pell also serves as a reserve chaplain in the United States Navy and is working on a long term doctorate in Talmud and rabbinics.
