Shadow War: Singularity

Listen Later

“Shadow War: Singularity” is a reimagined version of one of the most thematically rich tracks from Dark Matter. The song explores how conflict, both internal and external, can distort our perception of ourselves and others. When fear takes over, we start to see people as creatures, threats, or enemies, even when the real battle is happening inside our own minds.
Drawing on influences from Jewish golem mythology and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, the song examines the dehumanizing effect of “othering.” The lyrics move through images of monsters, omens, and hidden dangers, only to reveal that the enemy we’re fighting is often a reflection of ourselves. At its core, it’s a meditation on how manufactured division wounds us, and how love remains the most disarming force we have.
For this version, Jessi collaborated with Aaron Berg (Mountainwalker), opening up a new emotional dimension within the song, one that leans into tension, vulnerability, and the possibility of transformation.
If you’ve ever felt stitched together, misunderstood, or out of place, yet still determined to reach for connection, this song is for you.
