Shadow work involves becoming aware of the parts of ourselves, thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, we have suppressed due to societal or personal conditioning.
These “shadow” parts can include emotions and traits like anger, ambition, joy, or confidence, often hidden because we’ve been taught they’re unacceptable.
The ego plays a role in protecting these shadows. I encourage gentle observation without judgment, beginning with small steps like journaling prompts or noticing emotional reactions. Shadow work is about awareness and reclaiming one’s wholeness, not fixing something broken. It is a powerful, compassionate practice accessible to everyone.
