In this episode, my guest, Shakira, walks us through the loss of her twin boys, Micaiah and Isaiah. She describes her excitement at finding out she was pregnant again after having two living children, the concerns that started brewing shortly after learning she was expecting twins, and the traumatic circumstances surrounding their birth at 19 weeks. She also delves into her experience with pregnancy after loss.

Following her loss, Shakira has been working to raise awareness about second-trimester loss, as well as to improve bereavement care for parents in the UK. I am so grateful to Shakira for her vulnerability and strength in this episode, and for her commitment to supporting other parents grieving the loss of a child.
