As a believer, it's important to know that when you are in Christ, you are secure. Our scripture for this is John 10:27-28, where Jesus declares that His sheep hear His voice, and He knows them, and they follow Him. He gives eternal life to His sheep, and they shall never perish. For us to be sure that we will never perish, we need to be His sheep.

We will also discuss the second characteristic, which is maturity. Just like a child needs to grow physically, a Christian must also grow spiritually. In 2 Peter 3:18, we are told to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The more we learn about Jesus, the more we grow.

To grow, we must have a desire for the milk of the word, just like a baby desires milk to grow. In 1 Peter 2:2, we are told that as newborn babes, we should desire the sincere milk of the word. As Christians, we must not remain as babes but grow up to be mature.
