Nancy Kobel, Executive and Leadership Coach for Women and Engineers, is joining us today to talk about vulnerability, facing our limiting beliefs, and conquering shame.
Nancy is the Founder and CEO of Leader Inspired; she has over 10 years of coaching experience and over 20 as a facilitator. After graduating in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland, Nancy worked as a Thermal Engineer at NASA and Swales Aerospace. After over a decade of working in collaborative teams, Nancy noticed engineers' lack of development in other areas outside engineering, so she decided to fix that.
Nancy got several certifications in coaching and leadership; she became a Brené Brown Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator and a CPC from iPEC (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching). ICF Accredited Coach (PCC – Professional Certified Coach), Energy Leadership Master Practitioner, and Reiki Master, among many others.
In this episode, we delve into Nancy's career path and the reasons that led her to become an engineer first and then transition into leadership and coaching. We talk about the courage needed to face, defy, and conquer our limiting beliefs and the satisfaction of overcoming our fears and self-imposed limitations.
We also talk about Nancy's decision to become a leadership coach and start her own business, her work at NASA, and the double standards we use to judge the ask for help.
