Shame is something I’ve struggled with in my own life. I wasn’t always as brave or as honest as I should’ve been in situations where I felt shame. So, I decided to talk with one of the most shame-less women I know, Nina Manni (https://twitter.com/ninamanni). She’s a stand up comedian, proud feminist, and obsessive fan of the The Bachelor franchises. Nina shared how her experience growing up the kid of a convicted felon helped her become the kind of adult who does not suffer fools.
Next, I talked shame with Jenelle Riley (https://twitter.com/jenelleriley). She’s a fancy editor of a little publication called Variety, and she hosts PBS’ Actors On Actors for which she won an Emmy. An Emmy! Yet this crazy smart and successful woman is often fat shamed. We talked about the craziness of online trolls, and she let me hold her Emmy!
