Our emotions are like smoke from a fire; they tell us what's going on in our heart. Shame has been called the hidden epidemic. There is a difference between shame and guilt: guilt tells us we need forgiveness; shame tells us we'll never be free of guilt. Jesus came to free us from bondage to sin. Shame makes us miserable, but confession of sin make us joyful!
