Shane Cameron: “I was the major underdog. How the hell can you beat the guy who beat you?”

Listen Later

Known as the Mountain Warrior, Shane Cameron was the Commonwealth cruiserweight champion and held the WBO Oriental, WBO Asia-Pacific and IBF Pan-Pacific titles. Today, he’s a businessman, with ventures including the Shane Cameron Fitness gym and the Counterpunch boxing range.

In today’s episode, Shane talks about:

  • his rural upbringing and how he felt like — in his words — the “dumbest kid in school,”
  • the fight of the century and what he regrets about his behaviour in the lead-up to that event, and
  • his depression following his world championship fight with Danny Green, and how he came back from it.
