Matthew 22: 1-46; Ephesians 6:13-17
In this chapter, Jesus presents a parable to the Pharisees. They test Him two times, and then the Sadducees questioned Him about the resurrection since they do not believe in it, but they are unsuccessful.
Jesus's parable clearly demonstrates how we are bound servants of him and ought to present the gospel to all we encounter. As it says in verse 14, "For many are called, but few are chosen." We don't know who is chosen for God's kingdom and who will enter heaven and enjoy the wedding feast.
We must obey earthly laws established by our governments and rulers as much as we follow God's commandments.
Jesus explains about the resurrection, a divine event where we will be as angels (v.30), with no need to get married. This is a promise of a future that is free from earthly constraints, a future of pure spiritual existence.
Jesus simplified the 613 laws to two (v.37 & 39): 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' The second one is: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' These laws, simple yet profound, are what drove and sustained prophets to share God's word to the people and they are the foundations of the law.
