I noticed that the opponent favoured the Fire Splinter, and I thought that the Light Splinter is a better counter to it than Earth, as it's a little faster and there are no shields in this ruleset to slow down the melee and ranged attacks. The strategy was to use the Shieldbearer to soak up the initial damage, and to make use of the Portal Spinner, Pelacor Arbalest and Prismologist to met out most of the damage. The Portal Spinner tends to be a bit of a hit and miss as the attacks are pretty random.
