Your boss tells you to lie and cover something up, but you refuse to do it and you’re fired as a result. Or your friend wants you to go to a party, and you know sinful activity will occur there, so you politely decline. As a result you’re ridiculed and despised! At times we’ll suffer for doing right in God’s sight, and we shouldn’t be ashamed when that occurs! That’s the message Paul wanted to emphasize to Timothy in the passage before us. And maybe it’s just what you need to hear today?
