Have you ever purchased an item such as a drill, or a tent and only used it once or twice? Where do these items end up when you are done with them? Gathering dust, or in landfill?

When I came across the Sharing Shed Melbourne, I was so excited to learn more about this concept. I chatted with Joe, one of their amazing team members. Joe comes from a digital and technology background, he works on their website and the digital systems. He also works for an International Aid charity  that helps Pacific Islands adapt to the changes of climate.

So what is the Sharing Shed?
Sharing Shed Melbourne is a not-for-profit, community run library of things. Members pay an annual membership fee to borrow a range of donated goods; from lawnmowers to camping gear.

They seek to promote a more engaged, active, and resourceful community by empowering community users and partner organisations with low-cost access to a wide range of useful goods, skills and related knowledge.
