This week our guest is Denver Mayoral Candidate, Leslie Herod, State Representative District 8. We discuss her platform for the upcoming election April 4th. Herod is a strong advocate for criminal justice reform, mental health and addiction treatment, affordable housing, and LGBTQ+ rights. She has sponsored, or co-sponsored several pieces of legislation related to these issues, including a bill to provide funding for affordable housing development, a bill to reform the cash bail system, and a bill to create a pilot program for supervised drug consumption facilities. In addition to her work in the general assembly, Herod has been involved with several organizations focused on criminal justice issues, including One Colorado, the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition and the Harm Reduction Action Center.
