Episode Summary: "I married the moon"

Milbridge feels a little darker as Season 3 opens at Sharkey’s Place. On a slow, quiet evening, Kirini and Captain Gordon encounter a series of mysterious strangers, each carrying a burden of trauma or terror. First, a woman named Angelina arrives in a nightgown and mud-boots, seeking an ambulance for a "lunar blackout" and sharing the story of her life under the crushing shadow of a man she called the Moon.

The atmosphere shifts from tragedy to true crime when a lanky, soot-covered man drifts in with a harrowing tale of human smuggling and life in a "long chain" of depravity. But the real chill arrives in the form of Harris, a Texas Ranger tracking a serial killer across the country. As the truth about their earlier visitor comes to light, Kirini realizes just how close she came to a fatal encounter. The episode concludes with a rare moment of vulnerability between Kirini and Gordon, as they lock up a bar that suddenly feels much less safe.
