Sharon Wilson-Davis: More consequences needed to stop violence in schools

Listen Later

A youth trust says violence in schools is more common than we think.
On Monday a teenager from James Cook High school in Auckland was hospitalised after being knocked to the ground and punched.
In February an 11 year old was attacked outside Glenfield Intermediate.
Strive Community Trust chief executive Sharon Wilson-Davis told Mike Hosking it's a big problem.
"A lot of this is the environment that they are raised in, it seems to be more acceptable, it's all over television and it is just what they are doing."
Wilson-Davis says there needs to be more consequences if we want to stop this behaviour.
