Shaun Flynn is a Registered Maine and New Hampshire Guide and the owner of Northern Wilderness Journey, where he teaches practical outdoor skills, wilderness survival, and confidence in the backcountry. Through his programs, Shaun helps people become more prepared, capable, and comfortable in the outdoors.
Northern Wilderness Journey currently offers The Prepared Hiker System, an online course designed to teach hikers essential preparedness and survival skills. They also run a hands-on summer camp for kids at their 40-acre campus in Durham, New Hampshire, where the next generation learns outdoor skills, confidence, and leadership.
In addition to teaching, Shaun works as a hunting guide with Northern New England Outfitters, helping people experience authentic hunting adventures in the Northeast.
Outside the woods, Shaun is also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Kevin Watson in Dover, NH, bringing the same discipline and mindset from martial arts into his approach to outdoor education and personal development.
With new courses launching throughout 2026, Shaun continues to expand Northern Wilderness Journey’s mission of helping people reconnect with the outdoors and build real-world survival skills.
