They say the most important position in football is the Quarterback; I say it’s the guy protecting him.

Dan Marino is widely considered the “Greatest Miami Dolphin of All-Time”. Dan was dynamic; he broke hearts and records and did it with incredible charisma and exuberance. The epic story of “Dan the Man” will live in infamy among fans and scholars, and the highlights will be broadcasted until the end of time. If you pay attention though, you’ll find a dominating force in every clip, and that force wasn’t wearing number 13.

Richmond Webb, in-arguably the best Left Tackle to wear aqua and orange, was Dan’s blindside blocker for an entire decade. He was a fierce competitor tasked with keeping some of the best pass rushers in NFL history away from Dan Marino.

Mr. Webb earned the starting job in his rookie season and took that opportunity all the way to the Pro Bowl (and 6 more times after).

He is a member of the Miami Dolphins Honor Roll, a distinction for the best of the best. Richmond Webb made an immense impact on the organization and the community and he will forever be engrained in Dolphins lore.

I had the privilege of getting to talk with Richmond Webb, to hear his stories, and even get some unique perspectives on the current state of the Miami Dolphins. I couldn’t be more excited to share that with all of you PhinManiacs.

Enjoy!
