After one week off, Uncorked with Funny Wine Girl is back.
I'm kicking off June with an incredible conversation this week with Shay Jones Vitale who helps people connect with their body, feel their feelings and reflect on the experience. She is also helping to educate and train on the importance of mental health for job seekers and companies who hire.
Shay and I discuss what many (if not most) people are experiencing these days: a dysregulated nervous system. We take in so much stimuli--through social media, emails, other media, life's everyday stressors, etc.--that can cause our body to be stuck in high alert mode, lead to exhaustion and/or feeling so overwhelmed that we shutdown or completely withdraw.
We also cover topics like toxic positivity and my thoughts on the popular Mel Robbins' "Let Them" theory.
