The constant use of social media can cause a negative impact on your views of reality. It aids the rise of populist politics and is a constant echo chamber. Thamisa and I explore the effects of this on mental health and perceptions of reality, reminding you that a world outside social media exists - as we see every time with elections and polls.

A relationship with your career where you feel like you are shackled to it is not okay. A relationship with your career where you feel like you cannot devote time to the things you love because you haven't "got the time" is also not okay. It's important to recognise when you're determining your self-worth based on your career and what you're aspiring to do, especially as a medic because we have the tendency to centralise our life around medicine. To me, that's not healthy. So let's talk about that. Let's talk about the importance of taking breaks.
With recent events that have occurred, I believed it necessary to bring to light some issues and topics discussing the importance of sisterhood and protecting each other in this society. Feminism isn't just for women. Men must be feminist too. We must all work together to provide a safer society for women.

It's really hard to put yourself out there and seize opportunities. That's why having mentors to guide you and show you how to start conversations are very important. I'm joined by my uni 'son' in this episode where we discuss the importance of putting yourself out there, how that can make you feel and how it can help you in the long run. These are all based on our own experiences and we hope it can help you on your journey!
What are your emotional boundaries? What does the term "emotional boundaries" mean to you? Do you know the impact enforcing these boundaries will have on your life and mental health?
These are just some of the questions we'll cover in this podcast about how I've grown and am still growing and learning about my own emotional boundaries, to allow you to reflect on and try to influence you to establish your own.
“You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone; change begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
― Roy T. Bennett
Growth can be uncomfortable but it makes you unstoppable. It can leave you (metaphorically) battered and bruised but you'll come out of it so much stronger. But you need to remember, in order to grow, the wounds need to heal. You need to give yourself time to reflect and recharge. It's all about balance.
Have you ever hated someone for getting an opportunity you didn't know about? Have you ever spoken badly about someone who's confident? Have you ever felt that horrible feeling of envy?
STOP. THINK ABOUT IT.
Envy isn't a nice trait. It isn't sweet to be jealous of a person. It's not a compliment. Here I'm going to reflect on how I've perceived envious people and the impact it can have.
Your mind is a beautiful thing. But it's fragile. This first week on placement taught me that the hard way. I lost track of how I was looking after myself and was then thrown into the world of hospitals in this pandemic. My anxiety almost met breaking point this week and I wanted to share the experience. I'm not one to only share the good moments, I will share the bad too. It's real life. It's not always easy.
TW: Death
Burn Out: when the Pheonix turns to ash, preparing to be reborn. We're going to be talking about burning out today and how I've recently recovered from the episode I've had. I'll be discussing what I'm planning on doing differently after this time of burn out and how I feel that has affected me.
