She Blinded Me With Science! Dr. Anita Manogaran (Evel, Codebreaker) and her new Mission.
In 2018 the former bass player of EVEL, Dr. Anita Manogaran, started "Biology Through a Different Lens", a program at Marquette University focused on mentoring first generation (mostly black and Latinx) college students in freshman biology, equipping them with the resources necessary to reach their ultimate level of success.
Anita and I discussed religion, science, gender, and how the Milwaukee hardcore scene was able to prepare a Sri Lankan American woman for academic rigor and ultimately for great success.
