Right now, there is so much going on in America. It is all centered around race. Due to our family’s history, we want to use our voice and platform to help educate people and share perspectives and experiences around race relations.
The stance we have taken as a family is that we are going to educate people, inspire them, and let them get to the point they change their perspective. It is hard work and emotionally draining but it is important and necessary to do it. Educating people and sharing with them your experiences as a black person may help them realize their white biases and appreciate what other people go through every day.
We share one experience we had where one customer used the N-word on Eddie. We had to talk to our children about the reality of the world we live in, what they might face out there. Parents must have these uncomfortable conversations with their children.
Listen to this episode and get to learn more about our experiences and our perspectives on race.
