Remembering Mary Tyler Moore
Mary Tyler Moore was one of the greatest television comediennes in history, and a role model for millions of women as well. She starred in two legendary sitcoms: The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961-1966) and Mary Tyler Moore 91970-1977). The characters she created, Laura Petrie and Mary Richards, are among the most iconic in television history. In addition she was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in Ordinary People (1980), and she won two Tony Awards. She was an important character in television history and in American culture in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
