Today's episode spotlights Shelby Jensen, a wheelchair fencer who represented the United States at the 2020 Paralympic Games. Shelby first started playing sports as a form of rehabilitation after she had a stroke at seven years old, and from this young age, Shelby loved the competitiveness of athletics. Shelby's passion for the sport of wheelchair fencing was first ignited when she volunteered for a wheelchair sports camp when she was fifteen. Soon after starting her fencing career, Shelby began fencing all three weapons (foil, épée, and sabre) on the national circuit. In the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo, Shelby placed 7th in the Women's Epee Team Event and 8th in the Women's Foil Team Event.
