Well, what is there to say to this classic song? 

As I suspect that my audience is a bit older, every one has heard this song, as it holds up after all this long years, I'm sure that it will get a special place in history. 

My own interpretation is that of a lost love, which lets you fall in turmoil and despair.  

You want to smash everything, your inside is dark and black and you want to bring that to the outside, mute all the colors and all the joy. 

Very relatable to everyone who ever lost a loved one or "just" love. 

Melancholic sadness, mixed with anger and will to destroy.

You will find countless covers and re-interpretations, most are quite good.
