"Shemot - Names" - December 25, 2021

Listen Later

Torah Portion "'שמות/Shemot" which means "Names" delivered on December 25, 2021.This week's portion covers Exodus/Shemot 1:1-6:1 and begins, “And these are the names of the children of Yisra’ĕl who came to Mitsrayim with Ya‛aqoḇ, each one with his household:"This week's Torah portion brings us to the book of Exodus where we learn about the names of the sons of Israel.Pastor Richard teaches about the meaning of each of the twelve son's names. A name has great value because it is the reputation, the appraisal, and the appointment of his name.Pastor Richard shows that whenever authority is removed, through death, that the descents will also lose their connection to the land of inheritance, and will begin to embrace the customs of the land where they live. As a light of Hashem we are to stand out and remember that we are a stranger, but unfortunately many times we become attached to the people and land and we are no longer the stranger in a foreign land.Pastor Richard teaches us to be a light and to protect our spiritual identity. May you find shalom in this teaching. This week our Haftorah teaching is delivered by Brother Mark from Isaiah 27:6-28:13, and the New Covenant E-drash is delivered by Ro'ah Alpha from Acts 7:17-29.We hope and pray that you find blessing in our teachings. We ask that you please join us each week as we dig deep into scripture to learn more about the God of Israel, and reveal the Messiah throughout the Old Testament.Pastor Richard CortesThe Foundation of The Word Outreach Ministrieswww.thefoundationoftheword.org
