恭讀聖瑪竇福音 22:34-40
那時候，法利塞人聽說耶穌使撒杜塞人，閉口無言，就聚集在一起；他們中有一個法學士，去試探耶穌，問耶穌說：「師父，法律中，那條誡命是最大的？」
耶穌對他說：「『你應全心、全靈、全意，愛上主、你的天主。』這是最大，也是第一條誡命。第二條與此相似：你應當愛近人，如你自己。全部法律和先知，都繫於這兩條誡命。」
—上主的話。

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew 22:34-40
When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, and one of them, a scholar of the law tested him by asking, “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” He said to him, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
